Primary Role
This is a DevOps/Sysadmin role in the technical team of a marketing agency, supporting the teams and infrastructure running hundreds of web sites.
About You
You will have a good general education to A-Level, largely in the STEM subjects, with any relevant further education beyond A-Level an advantage. This is not your first job in IT, but you've outgrown your current role and want to broaden your experience.
Main Responsibilities
You will be part of a small team responsible for the administration of our live and office environments and the private cloud that underpins them. Answering to the Technical Director, you will also provide support to our developers (CMS and front-end) and some more general support within the office. You may also be involved in some CMS development, depending on your experience and interests.
Required Skills
Applicants must have the following experience, evidenced in a professional capacity:
- Linux system administration (CentOS or RHEL) with strong CLI experience
- Familiarity with macOS and Apple hardware
Desirable Skills
Experience with/of the following (in no particular order) is desirable:-
- Network and Systems security (SELinux, WAF, modsecurity, Firewalls, Intrusion detection, Ipsec, PKI)
- Cloud computing (OpenNebula)
- Languages; Perl, Python, C, Javascript (with node.js)
- Web servers (Apache, NGINX)
- XML/XSLT
- SQL
- Database administration with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL/MariaDB
- VoIP phone systems (Asterisk)
- WordPress
- Ansible
- IP network admin
- IPv6
- Email (Qmail, Courier)
- Source control (git, subversion)
- Building and distributing software using rpm
Salary & Benefits
- Dependent on experience but expected to be c. £35,000 - £40,000

Location
The role is open to anyone who is a UK resident with the right to live and work in the UK. You will be primarily based in our office at Royal London Buildings, 42-46 Baldwin Street, Bristol, BS1 1PN or another office in central Bristol should we ever move. Remote working and flexible hours possible by agreement.

- 37.5 hours per week
