What Andy does
The first thing you will notice about Andy from studying this website is that he doesn't like having his photograph taken!
Andy was one of the original founders of the company in 2003 and, along with Kevin Glass, wrote the Content Management System used for all our web sites.
Andy is also blamed/responsible for anything that has a plug on it. This means he gets to run the live server environment and all the office systems, which tends to make him rather grumpy a lot of the time.
What Andy used to do
Andy has more than 10 years experience of Internet development and website services. He is an experienced Systems Architect/Systems Analyst with a strong programming and networks background. He was System Administration Manager for five years at Sift during which time he built and managed a large data centre with over 40 servers and 20 million page impressions a month.
Andy spent 12 years at Bristol City Council where he worked on a variety of systems and was the Technical Lead of the team which created the Council's initial website. He was also the Systems Architect of the database driven content management back-end of the second generation site.
Andy also worked with Andrew and David at Sift. Apparently they haven't learnt from that mistake.
What would Andy rather be doing
Anything other than golf. Golf is for losers. Everybody knows rugby is the one true game.
