What Andrew does
Andrew is responsible for all aspects of technical development, project management, and client care: the Design team undertake brand development as well print and web design. The Production team focus on the technical aspects of building the sites, while the Technical team are responsible for hosting and development of the Content Management System.
As joint-MD he shares financial and strategic management with David Gilroy (who he occasionally tries to beat at golf).
What Andrew used to do
Andrew has worked at the forefront of Internet development for the past 16 years. He was Managing Director of CompuServe UK before becoming European General Manager at a time when CompuServe was Europe's largest internet access provider with over 1,000,000 members. He left (with David Gilroy) to become co-founders of Sift - an Internet technology business focussed on the professional services sector. From 1996 to 2004 Sift attracted £7m of venture capital investment and spawned several successful divisions most notably PracticeWEB (that builds and operates websites for over 450 accounting firms) and AccountingWEB (that delivers web services to over 150,000 accountants in the UK).
Andrew's early career was as an IT consultant with Coopers and Lybrand, (now PWC) where he worked in America with US software giants such as HP, Amdahl and Digital. He has an MA in Engineering from Cambridge University.
