Interim Management

Why You Might Need an Interim Manager

Hiring an Interim Manager can be a good idea in a variety of situations. Maybe your Marketing Manager / Director has just left and in the current climate you’ve decide not to replace them; perhaps you need maternity or health related cover; you might need additional resources to lead a marketing programme; or you might be considering recruiting a fulltime Marketing Manager / Director but want to see how the role fits into your firm first. In any of these situations our Interim Managers could be just the ticket.

“But will they understand the legal profession?”

All Conscious Solutions Interim Managers have previously worked in law firms, so understand the partnership structure and how law firms operate. They are familiar with a range of private clients and commercial services; different approaches to billing, legal career structures and the significance of such things as Lexcel accreditation. Thus when they walk into your law firm it should feel pretty familiar, which means they will quickly adapt to your culture and start to deliver results in week one.

“Won’t they just suggest things then walk away?”

Absolutely not. Just like a Locum Solicitor, an Interim Manager will become part of your team and as such will roll up his / her sleeves and focus on delivering the marketing support required by your firm. As your marketing specialist they’ll expect you to set them clear objectives and timeframes, agree who they will be working with and who they report to, as well as anticipating challenges and how their success will be measured.

Track record

Our Interim Managers each possess a broad range of marketing and business development experience, at both a strategic and tactical level. As such they are skilled at leading a variety of marketing programmes including:

  • Producing marketing plans and budget allocations
  • Delivering seminar programmes
  • Introducing client care programmes and satisfaction surveys
  • Creating and gaining buy-in to central databases
  • Producing newsletters and email newsletters
  • Developing and updating websites
  • Producing marketing collateral
  • Organising client events
  • Supporting sector or service focused business development
  • Generating PR
  • Identifying sales training needs

The Process

Full and Part-Time Options

You decide on how many days you require an Interim Manager, it might be five days a week, but often it’s part-time. For instance you might decide to cover a previous fulltime Marketing Manager/ Director Position with a part-time Interim Manager, however in doing so will need to prioritise the responsibilities. Do you need someone to run your marketing programme, or just deliver a specific project? It’s really just a case of working out what the most efficient option is for your firm.
