Bereavement Damages Increase

The level of damages for bereavement in England and Wales  (under the Damages for Bereavement (Variation of Sum) (England and Wales) Order 2007 (SI 2007/3489)) has been increased from £10,000 to £11,800 and the new level applies for causes of action which commenced after 31 December 2007.
 
It is intended that in future, adjustments will be made at three-yearly intervals.
